How to join Lacrosse
School team path
- Ask the athletic director when tryouts are — dates vary by school and season.
- Get the KHSAA sports physical done before the first practice.
- Turn in the packet: physical, parent permission and the concussion form, all to the athletic director.
- No paperwork, no practice — most schools hold students out until it is in.
Rec and club path
When a school team is not an option, Louisville Parks, the YMCA and neighborhood leagues run seasons for younger players, and club teams take over at the competitive end. See the Youth Rec page for who runs what.
Not every JCPS school offers this. Availability changes year to year, so confirm at your child's school before you plan around it.
