Foster is one of five JCPS Traditional elementary magnets — with Audubon, Carter, Greathouse/Shryock, and Schaffner. JCPS's current Elementary Choices page — the page families should use for admissions — says all five are boundary-based and eligibility depends on home address.

Foster's About page still has older "districtwide Traditional / every student must apply" wording. Treat that as stale campus copy, not the current rule. Traditional here is paired with an Advance Program and a character/leadership theme.

Foster is listed with the Traditional elementaries. The school's own page says every student applies; JCPS's current Choices page ties the five Traditional campuses to home address. Run School Finder to confirm eligibility before applying.
