Meyzeek is two things in one building: a Smoketown neighborhood middle school and one of three JCPS Mathematics/Science/Technology magnets, with Farnsley and Newburg. Sitting in the building is not the same as sitting in MST. If your resides school has a magnet you want, JCPS says you must apply to that magnet. What this school is
Meyzeek sits at 828 South Jackson Street in Smoketown, on a campus that was Booker T. Washington Elementary and then Jackson Junior High before the 1977 rename. It is a resides middle school and an MST magnet at the same time. It is not Noe (arts) and not Barret (Traditional).
Current Choices lists MST majors in Engineering and Design, Health Sciences, and Digital Communications and Technology, with fine-arts minors. If Meyzeek is your resides middle school, your child can attend without a school application. Enrollment at Meyzeek does not automatically place a student in MST. Students who want MST must apply to the MST program that serves their home address — Farnsley, Meyzeek, or Newburg.

- If Meyzeek is resides and you only want the neighborhood school, register. That is not MST.
- If you want MST, apply to the MST program that serves this address — even if Meyzeek is already the resides school.
- Tour the major you actually want, and watch the response deadline if a magnet seat is offered.

Buses follow the resides rule
