These five schools accept applications from anywhere in Jefferson County and are not bound to a neighborhood zone.

- J. Graham Brown School— self-directed learning
- Coleridge-Taylor Montessori Elementary— Montessori
- Hawthorne Elementary— Spanish immersion
- Lincoln Elementary Performing Arts School— performing arts
Traditional magnets — eligibility follows your address
These five schools use the Traditional Program as their magnet. Admission depends on the student's home address. The program emphasizes a structured setting, high academic expectations, and responsible conduct.
